Walk for Mady 2003
We recently sent out a plea for help regarding a young dog named Mady.
Some of you might remember a young dog named Molson that came into
rescue a few months ago from a shelter in Elliot Lake. She was only
approximately 1 year old and had spent that first year of her life
neglected, abused and unloved. As a result - she has growth related
deformities in her back legs and is in terrible pain.
Mady now has a new life (to go along with her new name) with a
wonderful family that love and adore her ... they have shown her what
it is like to be part of a family and couldn't be more devoted to her.
Sadly Mady's condition had worsened .. to the point she could no
longer walk on her own and was confined to a wheel chair. Her only
hope is a life saving corrective operation that will reshape the baldy
damaged bones in her back legs. However it is an expensive operation
.. ($2500 per leg) and neither Mady's new family or the rescue could
afford such a procedure so we are appealing to you .. to PLEASE help
Mady walk again.
On Sunday October 26th, 2003 people from all over Ontario, and as far
away as Virginia and BC took part in the "Walk for Mady" .. a 2KM
event complete with pledge sheets and prizes! There was not a central
location for the walk .. instead people got together with other
participants in their area or even did the walk themselves at a
location of their choosing. That way no matter where they were they
could still help.
We were hoping that everyone could think of 10 people that would
sponsor them for $10 each ... ... it is pay back time for all the
Chocolate Almonds we have bought over the years!!! Everyone who raised
$100 in pledges will receive a Adopt-a-Rott T-shirt and there will be
a digital camera to the person that raises the most money as well as
other prizes for participants.
We are still receiving pledge forms and donations but it looks like
we will have raised enough money to cover Mady’s surgery. As she was
in a horrible amount of pain the first leg has already been done by Dr
Gofton of the Mississauga Referal Clinic and we are THRILLED to report
Mady is doing wonderfully and even Dr Gofton is impressed with her
progress.
The support for Mady has been overwhelming .. we simply cannot
express our gratitude for the kindness and generosity displayed for
this special girl.
Mady thanks you ... as do we.

Special
Note from Mady's Mom
Words can not
express how much everyone's generosity with time and money means
to us..
Being Mady's
mom, of course I am quite prejudice as to how special and brave
she is, and also quite proud at how far she has come . Mady
gives you all, her gentle kisses, and her lion-like growl of
happiness, and thanks. This means so much more, than words
could ever express, but for those of you who have these wonderful
tan and browns, or any other loving pet, maybe you can understand
just a little more.
Mady thanks
you. I thank you, for the bottom of our hearts! I hope by
the time the next reunion comes around, Mady will be able to strut
her stuff, and show you why she touched your hearts!
Thank you all
again.
Best Regards,
Sandy Beattie |

Rottstock 2003
Our summer Reunion,
better known as Rottstock, was a huge hit!
People from as far
away as Owen Sound, Ottawa and Windsor made the treck with Rottn Kids
in tow - to Stouffville - were we all pleased to see old friends, meet
new friends, socialize our dogs, meet our rescues and support a
great cause!
The weather was
beautiful and the company was even better! We had great food, an
Agility demo ring, a Silent Auction and the Quilt Raffle – Of course
no Rottweiler event would be complete without the Rottn Games –
Bobbing for Hotdogs, Best Trick, and Longest Drool.
