Adopt-A-Rott Ontario is a group of dedicated volunteers with a deep respect for this incredible breed. We pride ourselves on our successes and can now boast over 250 successful rehabilitated dogs into wonderful forever homes. Dogs enter our program when we receive a call for assistance from a shelter. Typically they are no longer able to provide space for a dog that has not been adopted, or they see that the stress of staying in a shelter is taking its toll. The heart and soul of the program is our
foster homes. It is here where our dogs learn to trust again, love
again and to be loved. Without foster homes, our dogs would be
lost. Our Foster Program is designed to introduce the dog to all
aspects of a home environment. In order to operate, we require
individuals that are willing to open their hearts and home to give
a foster dog a much deserved chance for a good life. For more

can help by fostering. Where Our volunteers are
scattered throughout Ontario. Through the support of the Internet,
we have developed a strong and dedicated network of individuals
ready to assess, support, transport and foster Rottweilers across
the province. Our dogs have come
primarily from across Ontario. However, we have attained dogs from
across North America. They come from shelters where they have been
found as strays, turned in by owners no longer dedicated to them
and those that have been seized from abusive and / or neglectful
situations. Why The Rottweiler is a large and
powerful breed. Described as confident and courageous with
willingness to work and high intelligence, our breed is not for the
novice owner. Sadly, many people obtain a Rottweiler for the wrong
reasons and quickly find themselves ill-equipped to deal with them.
Due to this poor decision, many dogs are abandoned, neglected or
turned into shelters for no fault of their own. Rottweiler fanciers were noticing an
alarming increase of abandoned dogs and those in desperate need.
These people came together to rescue the dogs that they had come
to respect and love. What As a volunteer based
rescue group, everything we do is on our personal time and often
at our personal expense. We range from professionals to retired,
young to old with a common thread: The Rottweiler. We are obligated to
adopting out rehabilitated Rottweilers to a matching forever home.
We will not compromise our high standards of responsible
ownership, training requirements and loving homes that we have
always been blessed to have found in the past. For every rescued
dog, there is a perfect home that it deserves.
